Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to addressing violence and insecurity in rural areas. The Provincial Government also announced that it would assist with the funeral arrangements, covering some of the expenses to ensure the family could lay their loved ones to rest with dignity.
In her remarks, Acting Premier Madlopha-Mthethwa also emphasised the need for communities to work closely with local authorities and law enforcement to prevent such tragedies from happening again. “We must all come together, as government and community members, to create safe environments for our families and children. The violence that has claimed the lives of the Khambule family must be a call to action for all of us.”
