Provincial Council Against Crime Adopts Terms of Reference
In his capacity as the Chairperson of the Council Against Crime, Honourable Premier, Thamsanqa Ntuli leads a meeting that has resolved to adopt terms f Reference that clearly define the responsibilities of various stakeholders and members of this Council as well as the development of the action plan.
Amongst the pertinent fundamental issues at the crux of this meeting are.
* The Council Against Crime remains concerned about the surge in cases of cash in transit heists in the province.
* CAC to assess the impact of crime prevention interventions by interrogating the latest crime statistics from SAPS.
* The roll out of a comprehensive school safety program must be included on the CAC program of action.
* An urgent need for an inclusive dialogue with various societal sectors to find ways to curb the scourge of GBV&F.
* Provincial government and Municipalities to introduce Crime Prevention through Environmental Design to allow law enforcement & community crime prevention structures to easily access all areas during crime prevention operations.
