Premier’s Service Delivery & Crime Fighting Imbizo uMgungundlovu District, kick started with a visit to Plessislaer Police station as one of the notorious stations which impact negatively towards crime stats of the country. The Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli accompanied by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Chairperson of Traditional Leadership, the MEC for Sports, Arts and Culture Mtomuhle Khawula, MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, KwaZulu-Natal South African Police Service Provincial Commissioner, General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, Acting Director General, and the Heads of the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, Ms Glen Xaba-Makhetha listened to the station’s crime stats before doing a walk about around the station.
Crime was at the apex of the service delivery issues, that the uMgungundlovu District community is battling with. Poor service delivery varies from RDP houses, water and electricity, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and drugs.
The Premier Ntuli and Commissioner Mkhwanazi committed in restoring peace and stability in uMgungundlovu District and KwaZulu-Natal as whole.
