KwaZulu-Natal Premier Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli and the Provincial Cabinet visited the Ndwedwe Local Municipality under Ilembe District to deliver essential services as part of Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS).
The Premier inspected the construction of a new water scheme, which, once completed, will provide water access to thousands of households. He also conducted Operation Siyahlola, assessing community vegetable gardens that help combat hunger and strengthen food security.
During the visit, Premier Ntuli addressed the destruction of the local Thusong Centre, a critical service hub for the community. After assessing the damage, he committed to engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure urgent repairs and restoration of services.
The OSS activities culminated in a community engagement meeting, where residents from across Ilembe – including KwaDukuza, KwaMaphumulo, Mandeni, and Ndwedwe –raised concerns about service delivery challenges in their respective municipalities.
