OPERATION ENGANGENI NGESANGO IYAFOHLA: In a relentless effort to crack down on unscrupulous employers who employ undocumented foreign nationals, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Hon. Thamsanqa Ntuli, as the Executive Authority for the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, made an un-announced visit at the truck depot near Durban Station. The raid on the depot follows complaints from South African drivers about employers who employ undocumented foreigners and pay them peanuts, thus depriving locals of job opportunities.
The Premier issued a stern warning to employers who do this that they will face the might of the law. In the past two days, the Premier said more than 135 undocumented foreigners have been arrested during police blitz in Hammarsdale and Chatsworth.
