It Was Glitz And Glamour On The Eve Of Thursday, 20 March 2025 As The Department Of Community Safety And Liaison, Hosted A 2024/25 Departmental Service Excellence Awards (DSEA), At The Durban International Convention Centre (ICC). From Red Carpet To The Black And Gold Couch, Leading Into A Dim But Glittery, Exciting, Warm And Welcoming Environment Fit For “Kings And Queens”, “Prince And Princesses”, The WINNERS.
Programme Two had seven variety of categories apart from uMkhanyakude and Harry Gwala District(s) with their proximity to the borders of Mozambique and Lesotho respectively, which added to the eighth Cross Boder Crime Category, they both shared amongst themselves Gold and Silver respectively for 1st and 2nd positions, while Programme One battled it out for Best Support Services category, which is now history that the “Learned Friends” (Legal Services), took Gold, while the “Wheels” of service delivery (Fleet Services), and the “Technocrats”, (Information Technology) were head to head for silver and the “Link” to the THREE Spheres of Government, Intergovernmental Relations (IGR), took Bronze home. The Southern Durbanites were the biggest winners, as they were crowned OVERALL WINNERS of the night.
Departmental Service Excellence awards, which are in line with Batho Pele, is an initiative to get public servants to be service orientated, to strive for excellence in service delivery and to commit to continuous service delivery improvement. It is a simple, transparent mechanism, which allows customers to hold public servants accountable for the type of services they deliver.
