The Department of Community Safety and Liaison, uThukela District, held a Prayer Prayer Day at Emangweni under Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality. A deep rural area, raverged by mass killings, faction fights, Stock-theft, and unemployment, amongst other social ills.
This prayer is counted among many interventions in the area by the Department, following the Premier’s Crime Imbizo held on 25 November 2024, a promise the Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli made on the 28 October 2024 when along side the Head of the Department, Ms Glen Xaba-Makhetha visited the families of the deceased who died during a brutal murder that took place at the Mazibuko homestead, during a traditional ceremony.
Traditional leadership, Leadership, Quiet and Peaceful Life, Proper Conduct and Stability, were amongst the prayer items that Pastor Lenka Mofokeng of Mahon Evangelical Church of Southern Africa (MECSA), called upon different intercessors from different denominations to pray for in this area.
