PURPOSE: To Manage and monitor the provision of Corporate Management Services

To develop service level agreements

  2. Render communication services.
  3. Render information technology services.
  4. Provide auxiliary services.

DIRECTORATE: CORPORATE SERVICES

The Department of Community Safety and Liaison has a Corporate Services Directorate which renders Human Resource Management, Communication Services, Information Technology Services and Auxiliary Services.

WHAT ARE THE FUNCTIONS OF EACH SUB-DIRECTORATE?

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

To provide and maintain effective and comprehensive human resource systems that enables the department to meet its goals.

  • Ensure that there is a fully staffed organizational structure
  • There is full and consistent management of personnel performance
  • Service conditions fully processed
  • HR policies and plans developed and implemented
  • Provide for the professional and personal development of all employees
  • Effectively manage Labour relations

COMMUNICATIONS

To provide communication services to enable the department to achieve its goals.

  • Ensure effective marketing and communication between the department and its clients
  • Improve knowledge of, and interaction with the department and its clients.
  • To brand and market the department
  • To promote Batho Pele Principals
  • To maintain the website

AUXILLARY SERVICES

To provide facilities that enable the department to achieve its objectives

  • Ensure that appropriate facilities are provided for staff.
  • Minimise misuse/ abuse of pool vehicles
  • Effectively manage telephone system
  • Compile, review and implement facilities plan

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Use Information Communication Technology services to optimize the performance of the Department

  • To provide appropriate ICT facilities for staff
  • To ensure ICT strategy is complied, reviewed and implemented
  • To manage SITA compliance with Business and Service Level agreements
