The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli on Friday, 6 September 2024 made an unannounced visit at KwaSithebe, Mandeni Local, under iLembe District Municipality.
The Premier accompanied by the District, and Local Municipality Mayors, Cllrs Thobani Shandu and Thabani Mdlalose, the Head of the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, Ms Glen Xaba-Makhetha, District Commissioner from the South African Police Service, Major General Gopal, Business people, and several government departments, Labour, Home Affairs (Immigration), to name but a few.
It will be recalled that Mandeni, KwaSithebe in particular, was once a business hub in in the economy of the province of KwaZulu-Natal, however, due to bad business practices, employment of undocumented immigrants and subsequently the July Unrest, now Mandeni has become the shadow of its former self.
The Premier called upon the local authority, the police and government departments to play their part towards the fight against crime and including the exploitation of the law-abiding citizens of this country, KwaZulu-Natal in particular.
