The Department of Community Safety and Liaison HOD, Ms Glen Xaba on behalf of the MEC, Sipho Hlomuka Co-chaired the Multi-Party Political Intervention Committee Meeting (MPPIC) together with IEC’s Ms. Masinga. This meeting was held at the Department of Public Works on Monday last week with the sole purpose of enlighten political parties with regards to state of readiness. This important meeting was attended by different political parties in the province including the ANC, DA, NFP, Action SA, PAC, Good Party, ABC, to name just a few. This meeting is aimed at ensuring that there is political tolerance pre and post elections in the province through requiring different political parties to commit themselves in ensuring that there are free and fair elections. The meeting also looked at the progress report on Moerane Commission and the Nongoma Intervention were amongst the key points of discussion. IEC delivered a promising state of readiness ahead of the upcoming General Elections. While the State Security Agency cautioned on a number of factors, which could result to a serious threat if left unattended.
